304 Material Core: Precise Chemical Composition

 

 

304 stainless steel plate is austenitic stainless steel with strictly controlled chemical elements, complying with ASTM A240 and GB/T 4237 standards. Its key chemical composition (mass fraction) is:

18.00%-20.00% - The core element for corrosion resistance, forming a dense chromium oxide film on the surface to isolate oxygen and prevent rust.

8.00%-11.00% - Enhances austenite stability, improves ductility and toughness, and ensures the plate maintains excellent performance at low temperatures (-196℃ to 800℃).

<=0.08% - Low carbon content reduces intergranular corrosion risk, making the plate suitable for welding and high-temperature applications.

Manganese (Mn): <=2.00% - Assists in deoxidation during smelting, improving the plate's processing performance without affecting corrosion resistance.

<=1.00% - Enhances high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance, ensuring stability in high-heat scenarios.

<=0.045%, Sulfur (S): <=0.030% - Strictly controlled impurity elements to avoid reducing the plate's toughness and corrosion resistance.
